Biography

Josie Laurel is a highly acclaimed professional flamenco and contemporary dancer with over a decade of experience in the performing arts. Renowned for her captivating performances, she has collaborated with numerous prestigious companies worldwide, showcasing her exceptional talent and versatility. Throughout her career, Josie has achieved remarkable milestones, including her role in La Traviata at the Royal Opera House and the national tour of Mayumana’s Impulso across Spain. She has co-choreographed, produced, and performed in the acclaimed show Flamenco Orígenes with the Lourdes Fernández Flamenco Company. Josie has also taken her artistry on a global scale, touring with STOMP and performing as a soloist in Scottish Opera’s production of Ainadamar, where she later returned as Dance Captain for the Welsh National Opera’s revival. Her accomplishments extend to winning 2nd prize at the prestigious Concurso Flamenco Tabanco a la Feria in Jerez, performing as the female soloist in Welsh National Opera’s production of Carmen, and directing her full-length show Estudios, commissioned by the Festival Flamenco de Montreal. Josie's dynamic presence has graced the screen as well, with a noteworthy appearance in Woody Harrelson’s Hollywood film Lost in London. In addition to her international work, Josie frequently performs at flamenco tablaos in Seville, where she continues to share her passion for dance and connect with audiences.
